10:00 - 17:00 Medieval Army Camp
Östergravar. Welcome to experience the medieval society real close! Soldiers sign in for the coming battle. The kitchen cooks medieval foods . Musicians play forgotten songs. Craft techniques is taught so the important knowledge is not forgotten and lost. Visitors to the camp are greeted by a throng of authentic folklore. Entrance Adult SEK 40, children 20 SEK. St. Maria Cathedral. Bishop Sven-Bernhard Fast and others. Market freedom will be called out.

Mellangatan 56, glass factory. Get yourself inspired of medieval technics and shapes. Between 16.00-17.00 o’ clock you can blow your own bottle (price: 350 kr). Free admission. Host: Visby Glasblåseri.

11.00 Stora Gutawåget
Paviljongsplan. An ancient Gotlandic form of competition between parishes. The Gotlandic Sports Association schedules competitions in square-and-border ball (pärk), stone-disc throwing (stainvarpe), pole tossing (stangstörtning) and more. Free admission. Organizer: Föreningen Gutnisk Idrott/SISU.

12.00 - 18:00 MEDIEVAL WEEK MARKET 2011 OPENS
Gotlandsänget. Gotlanders and visitors from near and far, artists, artisans, scribes, merchants, good food, jesters and musicians. Not just a market but the heart of the Medieval Week! Free admission but feel to give a donation in the collecting boxes.

12.00 -01:00 Kapitelhusgården
Artisans, idyllic market with a wide selection of items, herb garden, and a medieval inn offering food and drink. The shop is open 12.00-18.00, the inn 12.00-01.00. Free admission to the courtyard. Organizer: Kapitelhusgården i Wisby.

12:00 - 16:00 Krumelurum - children's workshop
Gotland fornsal. Create, build and have fun! Creative workshop for the whole family. Fee: Museum Admission for adults and material costs 20 kr / child. Organiser: Gotland Museum.

12.30 OPENING of Medieval Week 2011!
Kruttornet (the Powder Tower). The mayors Hans Röd and Hans Cosfeldt officially open the 28th Medieval Week with music, theatre and jester. Free admission.

13.00 Biblical reflections with Bastardus SaNs (Swedish)
Gotlandsänget. Sweden's most handsome jesters, the gentlemen in Bastardus Sans give you the answer on how it all began. Bible directly interpreted with help from the audience. We meet God on earth and his son Jesus Themakesrsson and get the story of The Beginning, where we meet Adam, (Eve??) & the devil. Improvisations, lying and fabrications. 15.00 The Parliamentarians’ ride
King Valdemar’s parliamentarians ride from Söderport (the South Gate) to Rådhuset (Packhusplan) where they negotiate with the mayors of Visby. They continue their ride to Gutestugan (St. Per’s ruin) and negotiate with the country judge. This ride illustrates the diplomatic game that preceded Valdemar Atterdag’s illegitimate entry into Wisby. Followed by a walk with Herald Carl to Stora Torget. Free admission..

18.00 Valdemar Atterdag’s illegitimate entry into Wisby
Söderport. Three days after Sanct Jacobi Anno 1361 the warrior king from Denmark rides into the city as the conqueror. Express indignation over this captor as he rides with his honour guard towards Stora Torget in order to meet the terror-stricken citizens. Route: Söderport (the South Gate) – St. Hansgatan - Stora Torget. Please let the procession pass before joining it!

18.40 Valdemar Atterdag pillages Wisby’s citizens
Stora Torget. See how the rich citizens become destitute when the Danish king forces them to submit while threatening to burn their beautiful city. Direction: Karin Pinner and Pia Lindberg. 19.00 The Maiden is sentenced
Stora Torget & seafront stage. A spectacle that blows new life into the legend of the maiden that lost her heart to Valdemar Atterdag and betrayed her island. See the trial where she will be judged for her treachery. But was she really guilty? Follow her last walk to the seafront where she will meet her fate. Direction: Karin Pinner and Pia Lindberg. 20.00 Party at Strandpromenaden (the seafront)
On the seafront stage – Flaming fires and timeless magic.
Exciting music and dance performed by the participating artist groups that will be seen and heard during this year’s Medieval Week. Sit down at the seafront with the city wall behind you and enjoy the entertainment. Fire arrows shot into the sea by Gutars Bågskyttar from the stage. Free admission, but you’re welcome to donate into the donationcans.
